Why Fake Friendships are Ruining You
If you are struggling with friendships in your life please watch this video! This perspective is so interesting to me. I have struggled with frenemies my entire life and found this video to be very helpful in putting my experiences into words that are easy to understand. Tomorrow will be exactly 1 year since Josh died, and I have to say one of my biggest struggles since loosing him has been friendships. I think a big part of it is the fact that I am no longer the same person I was before I lost my husband and the truth is I never will be. Another factor may be that I don't have the time or emotional energy to deal with toxic or ambivalent relationships the way I had been in the past. Discovering this lack of tolerance has been a blessing in the sense that I finally have developed the courage to walk away from friendships that require far too much energy. However, it has also been painful to let go of friendships that I thought could stand the test of time. I am facing grief head on and the one person who who I could trust and lean on no matter what is no longer here. What I need more than anything in my life is to have good healthy friendships that support and love me without an agenda. We need people who will be genuinely happy for our success and be willing to be there through the hard times as well as the good times with no ulterior motives. I encourage you all to start putting yourself first, and get rid of the toxic/ambivalent friends in your life. If you are having doubts about a friendship ask yourself this simple question.... Are you ever doubting if they're really happy for you?
